A bit of culture for you vultures.

I am very much inspired by the work of the poet Joan Logghe, who is a Santa Fe native. Her collections of poems are my guaranteed cure for writer's block. Here is one I particularly love:

I took off my watchWhen labor began.
For weeks there was only
Time of cries and breezes
Only the time of iris

The day was spring
And so was the hour.
The minute was milk
And the feeling.
Days turned over
And over, like a chorus
Of lull, hush, and swaddle.
Pins fastening, unfastening
And slow closing
Of fontanels.

I was in love with fists
And knuckles.
It was surrender
As total as a country
Under white flags
Taken over by
Legions of peace.

Now, don't you want to go write something???

In the words of Gavin from Vice Magazine...

"This is kind of scary and we have no idea what's happening here but we'd rather be scared than bored so bring it on."

Check this out.

So very, very strange.

Very nice, how much?

David After Dentist

I will preface this by saying that I usually have very little patience for anything posted on YouTube. This video, however, is different. See for yourself....

On my way to class this morning, I saw not one but TWO glittering examples of this fashion don't. For those who aren't in the know, a Canadian Tuxedo is an outfit that consists of a pair of blue jeans and a blue jean jacket. I don't care how cold it is outside. Don't you have a jacket of another fabric in your wardrobe?. DO NOT WEAR THIS. Jeans are always a Do, and with the right clothing, a denim jacket sometimes is, but sometimes two rights make a wrong. Do-do, anyone?

I do love listening to one side of a bizarre cell phone conversation:

" let me get this straight: You went to a belly-dance performance of 'Alice in Wonderland' but suggested they 'Apocalypse Now' and they said yes and you're gonna be in it next summer? Rad."

apostroFAIL, etc.

Thanks to my brother Jim in LA for sending me these epic fails. I don't know about you, but nothing makes my gorge rise quite like an unnecessary apostrophe.

So, why Boiled Nonsense?
Well...why not? (Thanks to the ever-hilarious for the picture, by the way).
What IS boiled nonsense, anyway?
I think it can be anything!
Therefore, you will find on this blog a smattering of quotes, jokes, links, pictures, recipes, rants, raves, and possibly even more.
My goal is to create a fun and fanciful spot in cyberspace for everyone to enjoy.
Take a peek around and come back soon!
